What the Quote means and how it relates

" Good literature substitutes for experience which we have not ourselves lived through."- Alexander Solzhenitsyn

I think Alexander meant that if you read a book that has something that you can not do then might say that you have done it. But only if you got a good description on the activate. Also, it means that literature is more than reading it is a part of life.

This relates to my book because I have never really had to worry about if the guy that is leading me out of the woods would get hurt. But in the book you get a good description of all the problems that are going though their heads. That is what I think the quote means.
