What the Quote means and how it relates

" Good literature substitutes for experience which we have not ourselves lived through."- Alexander Solzhenitsyn

I think Alexander meant that if you read a book that has something that you can not do then might say that you have done it. But only if you got a good description on the activate. Also, it means that literature is more than reading it is a part of life.

This relates to my book because I have never really had to worry about if the guy that is leading me out of the woods would get hurt. But in the book you get a good description of all the problems that are going though their heads. That is what I think the quote means.

Sound track

This is a sound track on The Secret Garden because I have not gotten in to Wuthering Heights enough to know a lot
1. Ignorance by Paramore This song could be played at a lot of different times in the book but it could be used is when Colin is having one of his tantrums and then Mary goes in and yells at him to be quiet.
2.Be Like That by 3 Doors Down This song I think would be played In Colin's mind when Mary describes Dickens to him because that was when he still thought that he was going to die.
3.Train by 3 Doors Down This would be played when he is trying to tell his doctor that he will be fine if goes outside with Mary and Dickens.
4. If Today Was Your Last Day by Nickelback This would be played when they are all in the garden and Colin starts to walk.

Done :)

I finished reading The Secret Garden it was very good, now I am reading Wuthering Heights I heard that is is really good so I hope I like it.

More than half way though

200 pages and in chapter 15. I found out that before his wife died 10 years ago they had a son named Colin and now he is very ill and does not think that his father cares about him. You find this out when Mary hears crying in the corridor off of her room so she grabs her candle and trys to find where the crying is coming from. Then she goes it to a secret room and find Colin and then they talk.

The quote by C. S. Lewis what it means and how it relates to my book

“Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.” - C. S. Lewis

I think that it means that books are a part of daily life and at first you might not like it but you should keep read because you might find yourself not wanting to put it down. Also, that you might see that something in your book might relate to your everyday life. Even if you did not like the book you might of got something out of it like new words ,a few laughs ,and etc.

It relates to my book by at first it was about how she had a servant in India and how she was forgotten by her caretakers. It was a little boring at first but now that I am more than half way though the book I found that I do really like it. Also, that I do not want to put it down so that is how it relates to my book and what I think it means.

One more challenge to beat

The other challenge that I am have is the language called Yorkshire it is just so weird the words are like "Canna' tha' dress thysen!". I know want it means but it is just plain weird for London.

What about this book do you think will challenge you? How will you deal with that challenge?

The thing that might challenge me is that I might not know some or a lot of the words in the book. I might deal with this challenge by looking up the words so then I know want they are talking about.

What book did I choose, and why did I choose it?

The book that I will be reading is The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The reason that I wanted this book is because it looks good and I have heard good this about this book.
